Craft Class for Adults 18+ at Florence County Library

The Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library will offer a painted canvas pouch craft for adults 18+ on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the Stukes Meeting Room. Participants will use provided materials to paint their own custom painted zippered canvas pouch.

This program is free to participate, but registration is required as supplies are limited.  Register in person at the library’s reference desk, or call 843-413-7074.

Florence County Library Presents Free Law Talks

This spring the Doctors Bruce and Lee Library will host a volunteer attorney from the South Carolina Bar who will give a brief topic overview and hold a question and answer session on legal matters.

Computer Basics Workshop in Timmonsville

Looking to build your skills with technology? Join us for a Computer Basics Workshop at the Baker Memorial Library on Tuesday, April 30, at 9:30 AM. Lake City Public Library Hosts a CPR & AED Refresher Course

The public is invited to attend a CPR & AED Training Refresher Course on May 1 & 2, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Lake City Library Community Center. This workshop will be presented by Mitchell Fulmore, Emergency Management Director with the Florence County Central Communications Department. A $21.00 registration fee is required and participants must attend both workshops in order to receive certification. The library is located at 221 East Main Street in Lake City. Florence Library Hosts Community Resource Day

Florence County Public Library will host a Community Resource Day highlighting services from local businesses and non-profits. Staff from these organizations will be set up at tables to answer questions and discuss services on topics including employment, health, transportation, legal services, housing assistance, education, and more. Community Resource Day will be held Thursday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first floor of the library.

Community Resource Day is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Florence County Library.

Florence Library Announces Book Club Selection for May 16, 2024

The book club for adults 18+ has selected West With Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge for discussion on May 16 at 1:00 p.m. This is an emotional, rousing novel inspired by the incredible true story of two giraffes who made headlines and won the hearts of Depression-era America.
The group meets in person monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m. in the Stukes meeting room. The library welcomes new participants to join in the lively book discussions. For more information, call 843-413-7074.
